Spring forward

So, the DST ended (or began?) today :( I lost an hour on my sleep during the night, but I promptly made up for it in the morning :) Weekends are so awesome, you don’t feel guilty if you’re still in bed till 1 pm :-D

The weather’s been totally awesome the last 2 days. We went to the beach yesterday after a long long time and threw around some frisbee. I spent today evening doing my taxes, and I was happy to discover that Acrobat Reader for Linux can save edit and save the form info in the Federal tax forms available from IRS’s website. And so it was even more frustrating when the PDF files from the California Franchise Tax Board refuse to be saved. I wonder why they made them like that? Their PDF explicitly states that you have to either print the form or discard all the information you typed in… what a waste!

I also spent the afternoon in the library copying some articles for a friend. I wanted them in electronic format, so I imported the copied pages into Acrobat using a scanner. That was pretty easy and smooth. However, turned out that capturning the images as “text documents” and touching up the text is significantly more complicated and expensive. So I let it go at that.

  1. My thanksgiving
  2. Grad life
  3. sundry sunday
  4. More movies
  5. Structured Résumés: why does it have to be so hard?
